Climate Change Conference - May 2025
Kayd is committed to environmental sustainability across the Horn of Africa.
We actively support initiatives that promote responsible resource use, climate resilience, and the protection of natural ecosystems. Our work emphasises community-led solutions, green innovation, and partnerships that drive lasting environmental impact throughout the region.
In line with our dedication to community engagement and environmental awareness, Kayd Somali Arts will co-host a landmark Climate Change & Sustainability Conference in May 2025 at University College London (UCL).
This two-day event will address the urgent climate challenges facing the Somali Horn, bringing together experts, policymakers, researchers, youth advocates, and local leaders. The conference will serve as a vital platform to share insights, explore actionable solutions, and highlight the importance of collective responsibility in tackling the climate crisis.
What to Expect
Collaborative Discussions:
We’ll bring together environmental experts, policymakers, youth leaders, and local community organisers to share actionable ways to tackle climate change—from renewable energy and water conservation to grassroots sustainability practices.
Hands-On Workshops:
There will be plenty of opportunities to roll up your sleeves and explore practical approaches that range from community-led projects and implementation.
Open Networking:
We hope this conference builds lasting relationships. By connecting passionate individuals and organisations, we can all benefit from one another’s experiences and insights.
Why it matters
At the end of these two days, we plan to create a shared commitment—a practical, community-driven road map for future projects that benefit both local communities in the Somali Horn and our global environment. We’d love for you to be part of this important journey toward a more sustainable future.
