Made In The East End Projects
In partnership with Oxford House, we’re committed to supporting the vibrant talent within British-Somali communities—whether through artist residencies or creative mixers that ignite conversation and collaboration.
Oxford House & Kayd Artists in Residence Programme:
Two selected British-Somali artists will receive a stipend, studio space, and professional guidance to develop their work. Each residency ends with a public showcase at Oxford House, allowing our artists to connect with audiences and industry professionals alike. We’ll also produce short documentary films that track each artist’s progress and inspirations.
Our aim is to give talented individuals the opportunity to refine their craft, build new connections, and potentially springboard into bigger artistic opportunities.
Creative Mixer Events
Spread out through 2025, these mixer events spotlight three creatives each time, welcoming an audience eager to discover fresh talent in literature, music, performance, and visual arts.
We’ll kick off with Salma Ibrahim’s book launch for Salutation Road in Quarter 1 and close out with two high-energy mixers during the Somali Week Festival 2025 in Quarter 3—perfect for anyone looking to explore (or showcase!) the best of British-Somali art and culture.
Attendees and artists alike can connect, spark collaborations, and nurture a supportive creative ecosystem in the heart of East London.
